One of my presents for christmas was this nice and cool iPod… christmas present before christmas? Well yes we went shopping the other day and I couldnt resist it so its skipping the tree and put to use in no time. Will surely aid in spending time during the family get-together that as important as it may be it will no doubt have its boring and idle moments that I’m planning to spend in listening to good music or some of those audiobooks I got.
Oh I forgot to say that its one those new video Ipods, and I got it black so its functional and really stylish.

And so it is Christmas again… well it will be in a few days. I don’t really feel it special anymore don’t know why, but if it has something special its the family get-together and since we as a family are a little scattered on the region it really is a different thing. In the past what I liked about this time of year was the shopping for gifts and such, expecially when I was living by myself in another town so I felt like bringing ppl something different or special. Now that I am living again home with my parents the presents are more “family presents”. But I managed to get something of my own choosing for my little god-son: being a techbuff I got him a nice toy-laptop to play and learn something if he likes. Hope it was a good choise.

So it seems I’m getting the hang of it… blogging. So much having your life exposed but I think that’s what it is for… plus I can write private posts so I can even have a private journal if I like… this is better than having a pen and paper journal in that it is harder for someone to sneak in… and I know a lot about this.
Well so I submitted this blog to a blog directory so hopefully someone will get to see it cause I think it doesn’t have much exposure yet… but not enough to see anyway so that’s it.

Job, Personal
Well for now it is more of a collaboration, no real contract or anything else. It’s a web designer job that is what I did till now and would like to do in the future… only if there will be some real demand anyway or if I can get a long term contract with these guy. Cause you know it’s easy to call someone over and say hey I’m offering you a job but a contract is not yet in the works so that may come but for now we’ll keep it informal…and then will they pay me or really have me sign a contract? well only time will tell all I hope is that this is not just wasted time.

Yesterday I had an interesting read: in Japan Honda has created a robot called Asimo that is at his second version and is really cool, it can walk holding hands with you and do things like serve you coffee… I really think we’re on our way to a “Data” of our own.

Mac, Technology
Recently I got this thing in mind to get a mac. I think this came from my experimenting with Linux and open source in the attempt to find something other than windows. Not because I dislike windows but because I wanted to change to something new; besides windows is really open to viruses and other types of attack and my experience recently with one these viruses (which was uncommon and non destructive but really made windows unusable) wasn’t a happy one. So I finally decided I wanted to try Mac OS and got a mac mini. Well, I dare to say I got used to interface in no time and really find it a great computer so much that I now use this as my main pc and keep the windows one for other things such as using is as media center (which unfortunately is still a field the mac has to develop better) and a few games. The only thing I miss from the windows pc is a slightly better graphics card: good news is I was lucky enough to get 64mb of video ram on the mac mini vs the 32 specified on the store pages but I still find this liming in contrast to the 256 I have on the windows pc. But as I said for most games I still use windows though I’ve finally found a very good alternative OS that has a large base of games developed for it in contrast to linux that I dare say has none… and I even tried to run windows games on linux with special software with no luck.
So in the end get a mac, it is a wonderful platform!

Ok so this is my first post on my first blog. Not sure how will it develop or if I will have any audience… I think to have any audience I should start putting up some interesting stuff besides letting this precence on the web known. Whatever the outcome have a good read!
